Listener voted independent radio Somojo, whose cover I was on February of 2010 has informed me that I won runner up for Pop artist of the year!!!! There were over 6,500 votes cast in total. The rules are that Kc Turner posts a title every Monday that the songwriter has to use. They songwriter needs to finish the song in a week, record themselves performing it, and post it Facebook and Youtube.I recorded this song last night with Andy Korn and Jamie at Hyde St. Studios in San Francisco. It's a cloudy fall day in Northern California. I'm listening to Wilco after having just eaten a gigantic breakfast. I usually can't eat before I perform. I feel too nervous and pukey. I wake up ready to eat the couch. Maybe that'll all change when i'm touring with more regularityI had a wonderful time last night. Every one played the pinball machines that Dan Fontes has in his private collection- about 45 in all. It's a total playground. It was exceptional to play in someones creative space. He had a painting in progress, the salt air came in from the boat yard, and I got to experience a few moments of being at home within the songs surrounded by the most respectful audience ever! I was joined by Ben Leinbach on percussion and guitar, and photographer Brian Byrne who I think will be shoooting all my promo/cd cover stuff took a bunch of photos- i'll post those from last nights show in the next couple days. So a friend and local musician/promoter here in The Bay Area named Kc Turner began a songwriting club on FaceBook. He gives us a title we have to work into the song and we have a week to write, video record, and post onto FaceBook our completed song.
